Schist
Waitaha schist
The schist comes from the back of Hokitika, attractive sparkling grey in colour and extremely durable. It has a non-slip surface that lends itself to entrances, pool surrounds and stepping stone for paths and walls.
Alpine schist
From the Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier area of the West Coast. Multi-coloured featuring greens, grey, white, pink. Not as cleanly layered as Waitaha therefore inclined to have a more uneven surface when used as paving. Great for water features, pool and pond surrounds.
